Steve’s mom, Grandma Robin, came to visit to celebrate Claire’s birthday. We didn’t tell Claire she was coming until we were leaving for the airport. She was so excited!
Grandma arrived on Wednesday, May 1st.
So excited that Grandma’s here!
Grandma brought Claire and Cale some books. Claire immediately wanted Grandma to read them to her.
On Thursday, we went to Claire’s ballet class and spent some time at home just hanging out with Grandma until Steve got home from work.
Claire wanted to snuggle Grandma and ended up falling asleep for a few hours.
On Friday, we took Claire to the mall to Build-A-Bear, and Grandma took the opportunity to spoil my kids. She took them to The Disney Store and The Children’s Place. Both of them got stuffed animals and new shoes. Cale got a few new shirts, and Claire got a new purse, new sunglasses, a new necklace and a new headband. They also got some new pool toys. I’m sure I’m forgetting a few other things. Grandma loves to spoil them!
While at the mall, Claire rode the carousel with Grandma.
Claire and Grandma had a “date night” and watched Brave and ate popcorn.
The kids just can’t get enough of Grandma!
I definitely did not take enough pictures during Grandma’s visit. We went to the gym to swim almost every day that she was here. We went to Incredible Pizza. We went to church. We had Claire’s birthday party. We went to the park. We had so much fun!
Grandma shared Claire’s bed. The two of them stayed up late every night giggling and talking. What wonderful memories they made!
Playing at the park with Grandma
Claire had so much fun with Grandma! She loved every second and then fell asleep in the car on the way home from the airport.
Grandma got to stay until yesterday evening – almost a week!
Grandma’s visit was so nice! For me, it was the most time I’ve gotten to spend with my mother-in-law. It was nice to just have the opportunity to talk and get to know one another.
Grandma was so helpful with the kids. She gave them baths, helped them dress, changed diapers, fed them, put them to bed, watched them while I ran errands, etc. It allowed me free-time I haven’t had in almost 18 months. I hardly knew what to do with myself! And the kids loved having her around to participate in the ordinary details of life.
Grandma also helped with laundry and dishes and cleaning. What a blessing she was to me!
Thank you, Robin, for all that you did to help out around the house and with the kids. And thank you for being such a loving mother and grandmother to my family. We appreciate you. We adore you. We love you!
We are missing Grandma already and cannot wait until we get to see her again!
